Activities to do in the Cévennes

During your stay in the Cévennes, you’ll have the opportunity to try numerous activities, both as a family and a couple. For example, if you visit the region during the summer, you can enjoy an unique, relaxing experience next to one of Gard’s many rivers.

If you’re a history buff, you can go and explore some of the historic sites near the campsite. And if you’re visiting some of the main tourist sites (the Gorges du Tarn and the Pic Saint-Loup, for example) remember to head to the top of Mont Aigoual. For a stylish end to your trip, why not stop off for a gourmet break and discover some of the region’s culinary specialities?

Outdoor sports are also very popular in Gard where you can go horse-riding or trekking along the GR 70, or Stevenson trail, or walking in the Cévennes. You can also jump on your bike and explore some of the region’s many winding slopes where there’s relatively little traffic. Canoe excursions along the Gorges du Gardon or Gorges du Tarn are something else to try! Thrill-seekers can head to the Causses or Seynes for a paragliding flight or a spot of climbing. And motorsports fans can visit the race track in Alès which offers circuit driving and driving courses.
